Project Lead – Deployment of the new ERTMS signalling system
We are looking for two experienced Project Managers to manage the roll-out of new signalling technology on the Danish railway.
You will join our project teams in the Fjernbane East and the Fjernbane West project – the projects responsible for the introduction of new signalling technology.
The Signalling Programme, as the largest of its kind in Europe, is fully engaged replacing the legacy signalling system on the Danish railway with new computer-based technology. The system is aligned with the European standard, European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS). Replacing the system on the entire railway makes Denmark the first country to implement ERTMS on a national scale.
The projects are supported by an international supplier base and consultants from across Europe, therefore our working language is English.
For both positions, the place of employment will be at our headquarters in central Copenhagen close to public transportation at Dybbølsbro Station.
Schedule and delivery
As Project Lead, you will ensure timely delivery of the new system on one of the railway lines, from the beginning of the engineering works until passenger transportation is in service.
Your main tasks and responsibilities are:
- Monitoring the schedule to ensure timely deliveries of both supplier and internal deliverables
- Coordinating and aligning with the internal discipline leads
- Coordinating and aligning with the supplier roll-out line team
- Resolving day-to-day issues within the agreed mandate
- Managing project risks related to the roll out line
- Reporting progress to Project Management level
- Escalating issues to Project Management level.
You will be supported by an internal technical team, as well as planning, risk management and contract management.
Furthermore, you will be working closely with our international supplier to ensure detailed follow-up of their deliverables and timely identification of any risks, as well as solving issues that arise along the way.
Manager with analytical skills and structured approach
You probably hold an engineering degree or a degree in the humanistic or commercial field, and you have previous experience within project management. It is an advantage if you already have experience with large industrial development projects and especially in the rail industry.
On a more personal level, we are looking for a team player with analytical skills, a structured and detailed approach as well as good communication and leadership skills. At the same time, you can work independently and towards given tasks and deadlines.
The role includes communicating with colleagues of many different nationalities. Our work language is English, both written and spoken, and documentation is mainly in English and Danish.
You will be employed in relation to the current labour agreement and your salary is settled based on your experiences and qualifications.
