Power System Engineer for design and grid connection of offshore wind farms

Would you like to drive the electrical design and grid connection of the biggest offshore wind farms together with highly professional colleagues? 
 
Join us and become Power System Engineer in Grid Connections Europe where you’ll be responsible for designing the electrical infrastructure of our offshore wind farms and ensure compliance with grid connection conditions. You’ll manage the technical interface towards the TSO. Moreover, you’ll participate in relevant project meetings and cooperate with other team members to facilitate synergies across the project. 
 
Grid Connections Europe is an integral part of the Offshore business unit, as we are the first to be involved in a new market and new wind farms. The department interfaces with all other engineering departments and is as such a vital key in achieving our ambitious goals. 
 
Your key tasks will be to 
manage the scope regarding the design of the overall electrical power transmission system from grid connection point to the wind turbine generator 
perform power system studies on the wind farm, either directly or in cooperation with other colleagues, including power flow, voltage control, dynamic analysis, fault ride-through, stability and harmonic studies 
manage the grid connection process and the data exchange with the TSO, based on the grid connection agreement and compliance process 
keep track of risks and problems and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.  
 
Additionally, you’ll handle other important aspects in connection with projects, e.g. optimisation and cost benefit analyses, supporting decision processes, planning work to meet critical milestones, supporting procurement and, not least, documenting technical solutions and analyses. 
 
Your competences include that you 

  • have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or preferably a master’s degree in electrical engineering 
  • have experience with electrical systems and simulation tools like DigSILENT, PowerFactory and PSCAD 
  • have experience with grid codes and TSO requirements with regard to grid connection 
  • have a proactive and systematic approach to your work tasks 
  • speak and write English fluently 
  • thrive in an international environment and are able to create good relationships with your stakeholders.  

As a person, you have excellent communication skills, enabling you to convey complex issues in a simple yet precise manner as well as presenting results in a professional way. You’re able to understand and engage with different stakeholders, both internally and externally.
