Do you want to contribute to innovation - or just talk about it?
We are a team of devoted people with a variety of profiles developing world-class analytical products and services for our customers within Food and Agriculture.
We are looking for a hands-on and creative mechatronics engineer who will build our early stage prototypes/pretotypes as part of the conceptualization process. If that sounds like an interesting challenge to you, then read on.
The company and the organization
FOSS is the world’s leading producer of analytical instruments that monitor and control quality in the Food and Agriculture industry. We provide solutions that improve our customers’ businesses by running a sustainable operation supporting high quality products for consumers. In the front-end of FOSS’ R&D department, we are taking the first steps in bringing ideas to life in four different teams, consisting of physicists, engineers, designers, software - and agriculture profiles. We collaborate with most departments, internal/external stakeholders, and our projects are anchored in an excellent technology knowledge combined with a deep market understanding.
Your role is to build interactive test setups to evaluate critical functionality or performance risk in the early stage of new projects. You gather input from concept designers or technology specialists in the front-end teams and find a fast way to establish the setup in the laboratory using our rapid prototyping facilities (laser cutter, 3D printer etc.) and existing component.
You will also be using CAD-tools to visualize ideas and be part of on-going project teams in order to bring up new ideas for mechanical solutions or give feedback on proposals.
As a person, we expect your approach to be:
- Self-driven - you will be responsible for gathering the requirements for a test setup yourself
- Service minded - sometimes priorities are changed with short notice, but you will keep smiling!
- Focused - you are not developing the full, final instrument, only a specific part of it
- “Steal-with-pride” - if there is a quick solution available, it should not be developed from scratch
- “Can-do” - no challenge is too big!
Most likely you have the following background or something similar:
- Bachelor or master’s degree in robotics, mechatronics or mechanical engineering
- A few years of relevant experience from a similar job or from your education
- Knowledge of CAD-tools and fast prototyping
We offer a challenging job in an international, dynamic and innovative organization. We are market leaders within our field and very proud of the results we deliver. You will be a member of a team where we respect one another, work closely together and apply each other competences in the daily work. We make room for personal improvement, and continuously strive at optimizing our work processes.
Our work is based on close collaboration across the organization, and our tasks are varying widely from minor adjustments into pioneering new territories. You will be based at our innovation center in Hillerød, but up to 10 days of travelling per year must be expected.
