Would you like to make your mark on the future VELUX® products by working with module development from concept to final production implementation?

Then this is your chance to bring your brilliant ideas to life in a globally leading company within sustainable indoor living.

Your challenges
Together with your team, a VELUX Centre of Excellence called Mechatronics & Power supply, you will play a significant role in developing the mechanical modules for our product development projects. The modules may be power supplies, remote controls or drive units for opening and closing of windows and accessories. Moreover, you will also be part of team projects focusing on new technologies as well as optimisation initiatives.

Depending on the size of the module project, you may couple up with other developers, colleagues within hardware and software as well as technical project managers. Also, you will be in touch with our product development projects, Purchasing, Supply Chain and Quality.

Through our VELUX Stage Gate process, you will be involved in the entire process from module concept development to final implementation in our production, which involves:

  • Understanding customer needs to meet module cost, features and module performance criteria
  • Analysis, testing and verification of materials, modules and module performance as well as quality assurance
  • Design for Manufacturing
  • Construction in CAD as well as writing documentation and providing technical project managers with business case material
  • Working with our prototyping workshop to make physical prototypes to test your construction according to requirements related to design, function and quality

”With increasing focus on smart homes and IOT, we constantly have to look for new technologies, and there is a huge potential for growth. Your challenge will be to take all the needs and wishes from each product and boil them down to an amazing module,” explains Martin Armand Mortensen, Senior Manager, CoE Mechatronics & Power Supply.

Your qualifications
You have a creative mind-set, turning ideas into solutions. Moreover, you thrive being involved in all project phases and working in a project culture characterised by cross-functional knowledge sharing. Seeing things from the customer point of view, you remain structured and detail-oriented and take pride in ensuring progress and delivering on time. To you, collaboration is key, and you know that effective communication and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical decision-makers will get you far.

  • Most likely, you are a mechanical engineer, or maybe you have a background as a machine technician with 3+ years of practical construction experience.
  • You have experience with plastics design and development in 3D CAD.
  • Experience with CREO, Windchill and Six Theta as well as with development of consumer products is an advantage.
  • As you will engage with stakeholders throughout our organisation, you must be fluent in Danish and English.

Your opportunities
In Mechatronics & Power Supply, we are 14 dedicated development engineers, technical project managers and documentation specialists who work in cross-organisational project teams. Besides the collaboration in our own team, you will also work closely with developers from other teams such as Windows, Accessories, Software, Test, Quality and our market organisation. We have a great mix of competences - from mechanics over hardware to software - and many years of experience, so you will never fall short of feedback or a helping hand.

”The atmosphere is great, and the tone is straightforward. I think it is important to have fun because the best hours of the day fall during work hours. You will meet colleagues who enjoy working in depth with modules and who have all the resources to make prototypes and tests during development. It feels good to be able to hold the physical component or module in your hand to test and explore,” finishes Martin.
