Mechanical Design Engineer - world class radar systems

Make your mark from design to production
As Mechanical Design Engineer you participate in mechanical design and product development from definition of scope through design and 0-series production to end-test and implementation in production. You can look forward to working with a wide range of mechanical designs - from small microwave enclosures a few cm in size to larger and very rigid steel structures of several tons and advanced trailer chassis design with many radar support functions.

Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Create Designs in Autodesk Inventor
  • Documentation of components and assemblies as well as related processes
  • Specify materials and surface treatments
  • Participate in assembling and test of prototypes
  • Make products ready for production - at our own workshop and at subcontractors
  • Deliver advice to colleagues in Support
  • Handle all kind of ad hoc mechanical tasks on existing products

You can expect a 70/30% split between project related work and ad hoc problem solving.

Good overall mechanical knowledge and problem solving skills
You have a mechanical engineering degree and passion for working mechanical designs, CAD tools and calculations.
You can be newly graduated or more experienced - we have the variety of tasks to ensure that you are challenged and developed. Regardless of your background you must bring knowledge within some or all of the following fields:

  • High precision and rigid constructions
  • Vibration and shock
  • Thermal/cooling
  • Complex FE-calculations in ANSYS and/or NASTRAN
  • Corrosion/surface coating
  • Composite materials
  • Hydraulics
  • Bearings
  • Gears and servo drives

To succeed, you must be able to create results in teams as well as on your own. It is important that you thrive in an environment where you regularly have to put your things aside to handle here-and-now requests. Further, you will need a solid command of English, in speech and writing

About the R&D department
You will join approx. 45 Engineers in the R&D department – we are 8 in the mechanical team at the moment. We are all situated in the same open office space at the Weibel headquarters in Allerød north of Copenhagen. An open dialogue, helpfulness and a common will to move things forward characterize our environment.
