Join our Mechanics Department
At GN, we make life sound better, and through our Jabra brand, we are leading major technology shifts with intelligent audio solutions. Joining our Mechanics Department in Ballerup, you will become part of a global team consisting of 40 colleagues who collaborate with colleagues across the organization to create new products.

As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be involved in the process from idea generation to launch. Doing so, you will work closely with R&D partners, industrial designers and product management to ensure that new product designs can be manufactured and fulfill the design requirements. 

Translate user requirements into mechanical design 
You will be responsible for technical solutions and proof of concept as you work with early design activities to all aspects of mechanical development. Your primary focus will be on development, 3D design, prototype manufacturing, testing, validation as well as updates maintenance of complex parts. You will be responsible for activities such as risk assessment, design reviews and prototyping/testing. Moreover, your responsibilities include verification and coordination of concept, planning, design and execution stages.

Collaboration is key 
Throughout the design process, you work with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal customers and industrial designers. During development, you collaborate with suppliers to gain their input on part and assembly development to ensure effective manufacturing. 

The challenging part will be to reach the right compromise between design details, cutting-edge technology and user-friendly products, all within agreed deadlines,” Mats finishes. 

Experienced engineer who enjoys cross-cultural teamwork 

  • You hold a B.S. or an M.S. in mechanical engineering or have design experience within part development in plastic, preferable of parts for medical or electronic consumer devices
  • You are a highly experienced 3D CAD user, preferably PTC Creo
  • You have experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • You can communicate ideas and concepts both verbally and visually, and you speak and write English fluently
  • You are ready to travel 15-20 days per year to collaborate with colleagues and business partners primarily in China

Well-structured and ambitious, you are ready to take on leadership and responsibility. You enjoy solving mechanical “puzzles” and working with challenging issues that may at first seem impossible to solve. With a high attention to details, you can balance your work mode from explorative to solution seeking. Moreover, you have great communication skills and enjoy working with people from different cultures, sharing findings at all levels and establishing common ground.
