Mechanical Design Engineer for product development in R&D

The job
We are looking for mechanical design engineers with talent and curiosity. You are prepared to take on exciting and technically challenging tasks by joining the product development team in our R&D department.

We are dealing with sophisticated technology, systems and mechanical features based on state of the art mechanics and mechatronics.

Primary tasks
As mechanical engineer, you will play a central role in the development process and you will get unique opportunities to work with all aspects of mechanical development from the early concept phase over prototyping and marked trials until release for production.

You will be working in project teams together with many other specialists from mechanical, electrical, optical and chemical fields. We are all focusing on developing and integrating new technology to develop analytical solutions and instruments for our global customers.

The job is located at our new R&D Innovation Centre at Foss Allé in Hillerød, Denmark.

Qualifications
The preferred candidate holds a degree in mechanical engineering.
As we are looking for several candidates, both experienced and newly graduated, you may either recently have finalized your studies or have several years of experience, working in one of the following fields:

  • Product development in metals and/or plastic
  • 3D CAD or Autodesk Inventor
  • Mechanical development
  • Mechatronic development
  • Instrument design e.g. high precision systems
  • Multi disciplinary product development processes in all phases of development
  • Tolerance chain calculation
  • Structural mechanical calculation

Personal skills
To be successful in this role, you need talent for working in teams and for building relationships with many different people and cultures – we picture you as a true team player with a good sense of humor.

You have a structured work approach and you are able to plan your own time and coordinate tasks across the teams. This means that you keep the overview and are able to handle changes and like to work with different types of tasks, including hands-on work.

 Since FOSS is a global organization, it is a prerequisite that you are fluent in Danish and English.
