Join the R&D Software department
We are responsible for developing software for our analytical instruments and we have many new exciting projects in the pipeline that require world-class software solutions and a structured platform to support a wide variety of solutions. This is why we are looking for a highly skilled software tester with experience in automated test development. Further, you must have an understanding of the full SW development eco system and how automated testing is playing a crucial part of effective software development and be able to transform this knowledge into test cases. The R&D Software department comprises of more than 80 software developers and makes up for about 1/3 of the R&D organization in FOSS - and we are growing. As part of your daily work its necessary to ensure internal deliveries for instrument projects are well aligned with the deliveries of the remaining SW team.

The position
The R&D Software department is split into business segment teams and a platform team. The business segment teams deliver the SW for the end products, whereas the platform team control all the common functionality. You will be working closely with software developers on the latest software platform ensuring the platform feature set is tested at a high quality level.

Your primary responsibility will be developing automated testing within various aspects of our software platform, ensuring automated testing is carried out between the frontend, backend, and embedded software layers.

Key responsibilities:

• With a tester mindset and perspective, you will be responsible for giving input for testability and automation of the platform software feature set.
• Drive development and maintenance of the test automation framework.
• Identify testcases which are candidates for automation and implement tests cases and/or assist developers in implementing test cases.
• Transition manual test to an automated environment.
• Assist with identifying resolution and reproduction of reported software issues.

Your daily work will be at the FOSS innovation center in Hillerød Denmark, with up to 5 traveling days per year to primarily Hungary where FOSS also have activities.

About you

• You have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, including relevant experience in developing, enhancing, and maintaining test automation framework(s) using test automation tools.
• Knowledge of testing processes, tools and methodologies.
• Holding an ISTQB certified tester certification is required. Certification in ISTQB Test Automation is an advantage.
• You have experience in Agile Software Development and Testing.
• Programming experience in C#, typescript or relevant scripting languages.
• Knowledge and experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) using Azure DevOps is an advantage.
