Due to our leading role in design and implementation of fully automated data flow and IT system for the currently established COVID-19 Testcenter Danmark laboratory as well as our involvement in other research and data related European and Nordic projects, we are looking for a new colleague to our team.

About the Danish National Biobank
The Danish National Biobank (DNB) established in 2012 at the Statens Serum Institut is a research infrastructure within the Cluster of Research Centers launched by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. Our biobank is among the most advanced in the world and stores more than 10 million samples of blood, tissue and other biological materials. This infrastructure includes among others:

  • Recently implemented IT system for laboratory robot automation and data flow to the COVID19 Testcenter Danmark
  • National web-based search system (Danish Biobank Register) providing an overview of biological samples stored in Denmark and available for research linking multiple data sources including the Danish registries, national databanks and local biobank databases
  • Existing DNB IT system including robot automation, its maintenance and further development of internal IT solutions.

About the position
As our new IT/data solutions developer you will join a team of highly competent and enthusiastic colleagues. Together we will work on helping researchers from Denmark and abroad get access to the available biological samples. Depending on your qualifications, you will be responsible for:  

  • Implementation of ETL data solutions, stored procedures, etc.
  • Design and implementation of relational databases
  • Development of services and web services for the DNB and Testcenter Danmark
  • Development of web UI.

Your education, professional - and personal qualifications
You have solid practical experience in data solutions or IT systems development with one or more of the following areas:

  • Microsoft SQL Server databases
  • Microsoft SSIS / SSAS / SSRS
  • .NET / C# / ASP.NET Core & Razor Pages
  • CSS / JS / jQuery / HTML
  • Responsive UI design.

As our new IT/data solution developer, you must be a dedicated team player with the ability to work in a dynamic environment. In order to succeed in this position you must able to communicate in Danish or English both verbally and in writing.

The Danish National Biobank is an organization under the Danish Ministry of Health and is located at Artillerivej 5, 2300 København S, together with Statens Serum Institute and the Danish Health Data Authority. We are located close to the center of Copenhagen and the public transport.

Terms of employment
Depending on your educational background, salary and other appointment terms will be based on either:

The collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) (overenskomst for akademikere I staten). Depending on your academic qualifications and experience there is a possibility of being classified as a special or senior consultant according to appendix 4 (protocol concerning special- and senior consultant / protokollat vedrørende special- og chefkonsulenter).

The organizational agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organization for Salaried Employees HK/Stat (Organisationsaftale for kontorfunktionærer, laboranter og it-medarbejdere (HK)), according to chapter 5 in the agreement and the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Organization of Public Employees (OAO-S-Fællesoverenskomsten).

The position is permanent and a full time position.
