Do you want to work together with the best international specialists within Signalling Systems, and help to ensure the requirements of EU standards?

We are looking for a new colleague to join our Safety & Engineering team which manages compliance with CCS TSI and work together with the Banedanmark assigned Notified Body (NoBo) to ensure Approvals to place into service (Ibrugtagningstilladelser).

You will participate in the Interoperability verification process of the Programme as well as provide support for the other validation teams in the field of safety and interoperability. You will have a role in an international team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

The Danish Signalling Programme – the largest of its kind in Europe – is fully engaged with replacement of the entire signalling system on the national railway with European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) Level 2, Baseline 3 technology. This makes Denmark the first member of European Railway to implement ERTMS on a national scale. The programme is supported by an international supplier base and consultants from across Europe.

Technical tasks, documentation and support
As an Interoperability Engineer you are going to dive into and understand related specific legislation, such as relevant EU Directives and application of "Technical Specification for Interoperability" (TSI) for “Control-Command and Signalling” (CCS), together with their transposition into Danish law.

After a training period, you will be able to assist the Interoperability manager in managing the activities with NoBo (WBS, planning, delivery control, delivery assistance) to assure the necessary approvals.

Your main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Preparing the assessment packages needed by the NoBo for assess of preordained standards.
  • Participating in the coordination meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assuring completeness of the work package entries to the NoBo, and if needed assist the IO Manager in complementing the information to the NoBo.
  • Assisting the IO Manager in reviewing and verifying assessment results.
  • Assisting the IO Manager with the final EC Declaration of Verification.
  • Result-oriented engineer with experience in approval processes

We are looking for a new colleague who potentially but not exclusively holds a university or college degree in Engineering. Preferably, but not a pre-requisite, you have knowledge of railway systems (in general). A big asset would be experience in the safety and interoperability approval processes as described in the EU legislation, particularly within the CCS subsystem, but detailed knowledge of ERTMS/ETCS is not required.

The role includes communicating with colleagues of many different nationalities. Therefore, we are looking for a solution oriented person with good communication and collaboration skills.

Our working language is English (both written and spoken), and documentation is mainly in English and Danish.

Salary
You will be employed in relation to the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning Academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
