Intern - Embedded Firmware Engineer for Smart Meter Communication Systems

Kamstrup is one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of intelligent metering solutions for energy and water consumption. As software engineer Intern, you will play an important role in our customer projects. Here you will become part of a development department of developers, student programmers and other interns, which develops wireless products to support collection of smart meter data.

During your internship you will be part of our team focusing on collecting data from smart meters. You will be working closely together with an experienced engineer to achieve the goals for the internship. The main focus will be in optimizing and improving critical parts of the product written in C++. The work done by you shall show the path for future implementations.

An internship with focus on software development
During your internship you will be part of our team focusing on collecting data from smart meters. You will experience all phases of a normal development project at Kamstrup from idea, evaluation and design to prototype implementation, and will thus be acquainted with most aspects of the job as development engineer.

You will be working with one or more of the following areas during the internship:

  • Product optimization
  • Prototype implementation in C++
  • Unit test/build server integration
  • Test case implementation

The specific content of the internship we plan together according to your ambitions and competences.

You are fluent in English - both oral and written. Danish will be an asset, but not a requirement.

Personality matters
We seek a devoted student who can contribute to the team with her/his updated theoretical knowledge. You are currently studying a relevant engineering degree, for example within electronic engineering or Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and you have a flair for mathematics and software development.

You are thorough and structured as a person. You are capable of working independently with a sense for detail, and you actively seek sparring with your colleagues in the pursuit of the optimal solution to a problem.

Any details regarding the internship will be individually agreed upon. However, the internship is expected to run from February 2020 until June 2020, depending on your academic schedule.
