Environmental Manager for offshore wind farm development
Would you like to take up the exciting challenge of taking part in the development of our large-scale offshore wind farm projects, working on environmental topics to support the permitting process?

Join us and become Environmental Manager in the Project Development team in Taipei, where you’ll be responsible for supporting permitting and environmental topics for one or more of our early-stage offshore wind projects in Taiwan. You’ll be involved in a range of environmental and permitting topics to support the permitting process, including working with colleagues in Taipei, APAC and Europe, and assisting in consultation with local authorities and interest organizations. You’ll be part of a high-performance team with nine colleagues where we shape and mature the future of the organization across the Asia Pacific.

Our Group has secured 1,820MW of grid capacity for offshore wind in Taiwan. The first 900MW are preparing for construcion with a high level of activity and engagement with a large variety of stakeholders. The next 920MW of projects are in the planning phase, with many permits being required over the next couple of years, hopefully leading to a successful completed construction by 2025. You’ll be working on both projects, and you’ll be able to directly influence the outcome of our future activities in Taiwan.

Your key tasks will be to

• provide support to the Permit Project Manager and Permitting and Agreements Manager on a range of tasks related to the permit program
• support the permit team on environmental topics such as development and delivery of environmental monitoring programs
• support and collaborate with the Permit and Agreement Manager in discussions with external stakeholders related to the permits process, including fisheries and other environmental interest organizations and groups
• liaise with local consultants and contractors for in-country service delivery, for example delivery of environmental reports and environmental surveys.

Your competences include that you

• have a degree in environmental or marine science, law, policy or engineering
• have some relevant working experience, e.g. from the wind industry, large-scale infrastructure projects, consultancies or from working for authorities or related organizations
• have strong planning and organizational skills and have experience with environmental considerations within permitting processes
• are willing to work flexibly across a range of environmental topics, both marine and terrestrial
• have strong communication and negotiation skills in Mandarin (reading and writing proficiency in traditional characters) and English and preferably also Taiwanese.

You’re a dynamic professional with the ability to work independently as well as in teams, with a focus on finding both constructive and practical solutions to all kinds of challenges. You communicate smoothly with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. In addition, you’re able to create good relationships with your colleagues and build and use intercompany networks effectively.
