At the VELUX Group, we give you the chance to grow. To shape your own career. To work in an international environment. To be part of a company that leads the market in sustainable indoor living. We offer you a world of opportunities - if you have the ability and the drive to take them.
Are you ready to use your knowledge of information security to further improve our ability to handle security incidents, including making the most out of our SIEM based on Splunk?

Then grab this opportunity to become a trusted advisor to Group IT business architects and work with them and our outsourcing partner to ensure that solutions are designed and implemented according to requirements.

Your challenges
As cyber security specialist, one of your main responsibilities will be to manage and further develop our outsourced SAC/SOC set-up. Also, you will be responsible for ensuring that we get the most out of our Splunk solution, including our Enterprise Security app. Likewise, covering cloud security in many facets will be a major part of your job.

To sum up, you are instrumental in eliminating risks and vulnerabilities as you provide insights and hands-on experience to mitigate the challenges. Specifically, your tasks will include:

  • Providing advice on IT security in all kinds of IT projects - from early specification of requirements to the technical implementation. This means collaborating across our global organisation on how to make our cloud, on-prem and IoT solutions more secure, striking the right balance between IT security and business efficiency
  • Finding practical solutions for how to translate our security principles into a technical set-up, select and design solutions and adapt our existing architecture and road maps when needed
  • Conducting and assisting others in performing risk and threat assessments related to acquisition, development and major changes in the VELUX Group application and infrastructure landscape
  • Handling and prioritising security incidents as well as IT security requests and questions from the whole VELUX Group
  • Participating in auditing tasks performed by the Security and Risk Management team for all VELUX companies

The job will send you travelling internationally approx. 15-30 days a year.

Your qualifications
You are an outstanding technician, an adept consultant and a team player at heart. The key to your success is your ability to ’sell the message’ upwards and downwards in the organisation to many different business and IT stakeholders. It is equally important that you are self-driven and that you can run your own projects from start to finish.

You also have:

  • A strong technical background, perhaps a relevant higher education, and are highly motivated by learning a lot more about technology and security
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within information security
  • Solid experience with the more technical security aspects related to endpoints, infrastructure components, networking, cloud solutions and application security solutions
  • Some practical experience with risk assessment and/or risk management practices
  • Worked in an organisation with a large IT department and a complex IT environment

Your opportunities
IT security is very high on the agenda in the VELUX Group, and in the Security and Risk Management team, we collaborate with management, setting the overall global direction of our IT security strategy. Being security specialists, we create and guard the principles, policies and architecture related to IT security. We also ensure that they are implemented in practice, working closely with stakeholders inside and outside Group IT.

Joining us, you will team up with 4 skilled colleagues in an informal and energetic atmosphere where commitment, thoroughness, humour and mutual respect represent our core values.

The first follower approach in Group IT will offer you the possibility to work with state-of-the-art tools and methods, and you will get to influence the choice of security technology in the VELUX Group. Also, we will make sure that you continue to develop and grow your competences as we value and prioritise continued professional development.

“We need your knowledge about e.g. cloud and endpoint security to not only put forward requirements but also challenge and develop the solutions put forward by our colleagues in Group IT, our outsourcing provider, etc.,” explains Per Barthold Hansen, Director IT Security. He continues: “Being a technology enthusiast and passionate about assessing risks and implementing security solutions, this is a great opportunity for you to work with all kinds of technologies and problems.”
