The Technical University of Denmark solicits applications for the above tenured position created to support the further development of the department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering as a leading international department in the field of chemical and biochemical product and process technology with a particular focus on polymeric materials.

The teaching will cover experimental and theoretical Bachelor-, Master- and PhD-level courses in the core field of chemical and biochemical engineering as well as in-service training courses for industry. A successful candidate will have a great interest in teaching including developing new teaching methods including the use of digital technology and with a strong emphasis on sustainability. The research will be in the Danish Polymer Centre. The center focuses on polymer chemistry and technology with a strong tradition in rheology.

The preferred candidate should have a background in polymer technology and chemical engineering and a wish to grow frontline research to support the recycling of polymers. It will be an advantage for candidates:

  • to have a broad background in relevant analytical techniques – both for chemical and physical testing of polymers, including characterization by means of rheology
  • to have experience in polymer product design
  • to document a broad understanding of different technologies for recycling polymers
  • to show an overview of the field and an ability to cooperate with different stakeholders such as academia, industry, NGO’s, and public authorities.

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.

As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). If you are applying for the associate professor position you should also have academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.

Salary and terms of employment 
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
