Your new colleagues have rated Oticon as #1 place to work for Engineers. This is according to “Ingeniøren” (Engineering journal) - but why is that? We believe it is our innovative work environment. We develop best in class hearing solutions. We are a large and growing company within the stable medico-technical industry. Our more than 600 engineers are eager to develop the best products in the market.

What is in it for you?
Modern hearing instruments are also Bluetooth enabled and connect to Android devices. Already now, mobile apps play a key role in creating a seamless experience for our end-users. In your new role as Android Software Developer, you will work on a meaningful application for our hearing-impaired users, increase their comfort of life and make a difference in their empowerment. You will be working on a product that has been on the market for some time, and which will be developed for several more years. Your input from a developmental point of view will be highly valued, and we look forward to sharing knowledge with you.

Be prepared to develop both publicly available mobile applications and technical proofs of concept exploring new technologies. You can expect various tasks, for example the development of UI components, implementation of business logic, direct and indirect communication with hearing instruments, integration with third-party services, usage of Android features and improvements of the Continuous Integration processes.

Join the team!
You will be part of our Software Solutions group, where we share our competencies on two sites. We have three colleagues located in our headquarters in Smørum close to Copenhagen, and 15 colleagues located in Warsaw in Poland. Each team is working on different features on two platforms in total. We coordinate our work via daily scrum meetings.

You will furthermore be working in close cooperation with both our cloud team and our team responsible for the development of the application layer software of our hearing instruments. You will also have strong cooperation with a dedicated Product Owner, business analysts, UX and UI designers, test developers and our colleagues from Sales & Marketing.

Your backpack
You may have an educational background at BSc level. However, it is your skills and experience as an Android developer that is most relevant for you to succeed in this position. Consequently, you may have already developed a few apps for the Google Play store, and you are experienced in object-oriented software development. You know Java inside out and you have already worked with Kotlin or are eager to start. We furthermore highly value experience with performance tools, optimization techniques, Bluetooth Low Energy communication, distributed systems and multi-threaded programming. We also value experience with embedded and medical software.

As a person, you focus on the result and present a structured and independent working style. You will be part of an international team with other skilled colleagues that enable and encourage knowledge sharing and innovative thinking. We want your convincing input and offer the framework for you to create and establish the very best solutions.

Technical challenges and great passion

You can look forward to technical challenges and you will be working with cutting-edge solutions for both hearing aids and accessories. This area holds great future promise both in the perspective of the company, but also in the way end users interact with our products through their mobile devices.
