Topsil GlobalWafers A/S is a leading supplier of ultra-pure silicon wafers produced with the Float Zone (FZ) method for the global semiconductor industry. Silicon is used in electronic components to aid conversion and control of electrical power. Producing silicon wafers with the FZ method is a complex multidisciplinary process, in which polycrystaline silicon material is inductively melted and solidified again to form mono crystalline silicon, the final product. The inductive heating process is driven by a high power RF generator based on old fashioned vacuum tube technology. The FZ production is built on many years of know-how and empirical knowledge within the field of RF high power electronics, thermodynamics, mechanics and semiconductor physics.
