What we do
Clipper was established in 1972 as a ship operator and has since grown to become a shipowner and an industry leader in bulk. We operate a large fleet of handysize and supramax vessels as well as a number of subsidiary businesses, including Clipper Steel Services, the largest dedicated steel carrier and Compass Rose Shipping.

In addition to bulk, Clipper has investments in multipurpose vessels, cruise ships, and ro-ro and ferry services. Read more about our other investments.

In total, we manage and operate about 140 vessels, of which we own approximately half and have around 30 in in-house technical management.

Long-term partnerships with investors, technical and commercial managers and many others support our broad base of competencies, and we take pride in the fact that many of our partnerships go back more than 20 years.
