Control Engineer for grid connection and power control of wind turbines
Would you like to participate in the design and construction of offshore wind farms?
 
Join us and become Control Engineer in the SCADA department, which is responsible for all engineering phases within automation of wind turbine power systems. Our tasks include specification, design and implementation of wind farm automation systems, as well as project management of all automation deliverables for our construction projects and product line.
 
The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1,800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world's largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.
 
You will be based at our Danish office in Skærbæk near Fredericia. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work, adding up to approx. 1.5 months per year.
 
Your key duties will be to

  • be responsible for control-related technical requirements in contracts with our sub-suppliers within the SCADA systems field, with focus on wind turbine control and active and reactive power control
  • handle project-related contractual and technical communication with sub-contractors and manage project-related activities required for the wind turbine control delivery
  • offer specialist support regarding the operation and management of wind farms
  • manage FAT, SAT, SIT and commissioning followed by handover and follow-up on the delivery
  • design, parametrise and test voltage control, active and reactive power control in statcoms and WTG controllers.

Your qualifications and competences include that you

  • have a master's degree in electrical engineering and experience with industrial automation and control, preferably within the energy sector
  • have experience with control and automation systems, power electronics and SCADA systems in general, and preferably also knowledge about data protocols such as IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61400-25 and OPC XML
  • speak and write English fluently as we operate in an international environment
  • are a team player, have a goal-oriented approach to your work and a strong personal drive, enabling you to make and implement decisions effectively and to take on a leading role in order to achieve results
  • are able to prioritise your tasks and find an appropriate balance between delegation and personal execution of tasks.
