DHI is a world leading and independent research and consultancy organisation where objectives are to build competence and promote technological development in areas relevant to water, environment and health in the fields of ecology and aquaculture, water resources, hydraulic engineering, coastal morphology and hydrodynamics as well as other related fields.

The department for Ports and Offshore Technology in Hørsholm is looking for a marine engineer to further expand our capacity and expertise in hydraulic specialist consultancy, oceanography and R&D for the future marine infrastructure and offshore energy market. Over the last decades we have succeeded in building a prosperous and sustainable business servicing some of the world largest operators within ports, terminals and navigation; marine oil & gas; coastal protection; offshore renewables; power plants; and marine information, planning and operations systems through the provision of cutting-edge technology services and world leading expertise - and we are looking for a new colleague to join us on our quest.
 
Responsibilities

You will be based in the Ports and Offshore Department in Hørsholm, Denmark, and be responsible for:

  • Technical modeling and execution of our portfolio of highly technical projects
  • Project management and quality assurance
  • Continuously growing your technical capabilities to accommodate our client needs
  • Developing novel engineering solutions

Qualifications (as many of the following)

  • MSc, Ph.D. or similar in Coastal, Ports, Metocean Engineering, Naval Architecture or Physical Oceanography.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in metocean modelling and data analysis
  • Solid experience in advanced statistical methods, uncertainty analysis and analytical skills
  • Strong background in hydrodynamics and numerical modeling of ocean flow and waves
  • An outstanding record of completed projects demonstrating a high level of technical capabilities.
  • Competent in MATLAB

  • Strong communication skill
  • Sales minded with project management skills
  • Proficiency in English
