Lead WTG Technical Support Specialist responsible for the SWP 6+MW platform

Would you like to make a difference in how we support new turbine platforms, technologies and sites in the transition to operation?

Join us and become Lead WTG Technical Support Specialist in our Maintenance Support team which provides technical support to all of the Group's wind assets in operation. Together with nine dedicated colleagues, you will be responsible for identifying the top downtime drivers, developing and implementing intermediate corrective actions as well as ensuring technical support, documentation and processes.

Maintenance Support is part of Wind Power which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at one of our Danish offices in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or in Skærbæk near Fredericia or alternatively at our London office in the United Kingdom, or at one of our site offices on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work to our construction sites for longer periods on a rotation based work pattern, and you will also be expected to work offshore based on either a SOV or flotel for shorter periods.

Your key duties will be to

  • assist in the training of the relevant personnel on the new site and provide D7 WTG cross site support to the technical site supervisors
  • lead on and drive onsite technical support by utilising the D7 WTG platform and evaluating failure modes in relation to turbine stops
  • ensure a consistent and effective D7 WTG technical site ramp up hereunder lead in walk downs, quality control and follow up on performance and planning of tasks
  • have detailed knowledge of the Wind Turbine Safety Rules, and other relevant safe systems of work, and ensure that safety is an active part of the daily tasks
  • support internally in back office and on the sites utilising the D7 WTG platform on failure diagnosis, software releases, retrofit review and failure statistics.

Furthermore, you will be the single point of contact to back office on your technical projects. You will support operational sites utilising the D7 WTG platform and secure knowledge sharing across sites. You will act as technical onsite support if required and support implementation of improvement projects. You will ensure that lessons learned relating to asset integrity are captured and embedded in future design, execution and maintenance practices, and you will support the continuous improvement tracks both on sites and in and out of warranty.

Your qualifications and core competences include that you

  • have a strong background in working and supporting offshore windfarms, preferably experience with the respective WTG platform
  • have a degree or equivalent supplemented by multiple years of work experience in a similar position in the offshore wind industry or a related discipline
  • have an analytical and practical approach to problem solving
  • have relevant work experience, preferably within technical support
  • advantageously, have experience with customer support, technical product development, technical installations and WTG service.

Moreover, you are a used to working with the Microsoft Office suite and preferably, you are familiar with web-based monitoring systems, filing systems and electronic document management systems. You are structured and process-oriented, able to lead change by engaging others and have strong communication skills that enables you to present and communicate the results of your work in an efficient manner. You should speak and write English fluently.
