We are looking for a passionate senior engineer or technician to join our office in Copenhagen as BIM Manager, responsible for the management aspects of the BIM process across our projects.

The successful candidate will be involved in a diverse and challenging range of projects with long-term opportunities for career development in the areas of drafting, 3D modelling, BIM and Information management.

Role
The role includes the management of the projects´ BIM strategy and protocols, development of information workflows, choice of appropriate tools and management of coordination and review processes.

The tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Implement the “Common Data Environment (CDE)” standard.
  • Implement a Virtual Design Review (VDR) process.
  • Use a Quality Assurance software solution (e.g. Bentley Navigator, Solibri, Navisworks) to coordinate and validate BIM models.
  • Regularly review BIM model content, checking for errors and inconsistencies in the work of others.
  • Create and/or manage modelling protocols that allow for export of content to analysis and visualization software and to other BIM software.
  • Production of 3D models for infrastructure projects using BIM software (Bentley package mainly and Autodesk package).
  • Production of 2D drawings and 3D models in MicroStation (as well as in AutoCAD)
  • Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other design professionals.
  • Preparation of Construction Documentation.
  • Taking responsibility for checking own work and that produced by others, including external consultants, sub-consultants and contractors.
  • Completing work to agreed timescales, program and budgetary constraints.

Qualifications
We are looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer or Technician with experience in the production of coordinated Building Information Models. Candidate should have experience in the following:

  • MicroStation and/or Revit, as demonstrated by sophisticated use of software beyond just modelling 3D content.
  • 3D design and coordination of multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to read construction documents.
  • It would be advantage to have any of the following:
    • Experience with Bentley Navigator and/or Solibri and/or Navisworks;
    • Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit Structural/MEP/Architecture;
    • Knowledge of Projectwise workflow;
    • Familiarity with interoperability between software programs;
    • Experience in reinforce concrete detailing and/or CADS RC;
    • Autodesk Certified Qualification in Revit.

Other requirements:

  • Oral and written English skills sufficient to produce coordination assessment reports for the client and to represent Arup.
  • Fluency in any Nordic language is an advantage.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new programs as required by individual projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
