AGCO is a global agricultural equipment maker. Randers is one of the Engineering sites in AGCO, specialized in combines.

Harvesting Engineering is looking for

Module Lead Engineer for Processor, Global Combines

located in Denmark, Randers.

This position will lead and is responsible for the design of processor for combine harvesters.  This includes:

  • Leading/coordinating module development activities, driving module-specific innovation, ensuring the best cost together with purchasing and manufacturing counterparts
  • Designing in Pro-E 3D CAD system, especially sheet metal design Engineering calculations for structure, drives, mass flow etc.
  • DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • LRM (Life Reliability Management)
  • CFD and DEM analysis
  • Developing special knowledge in especially crop flow from the threshing, separating, cleaning and residue management
  • Project planning according to AGCO’s procedures called AMPIP
  • Collaboration across to other AGCO sites for engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing
  • Test of concepts, in mock ups, proto types
  • Participating in testing of combine harvesters in the field
  • Reporting of test results
  • Participating in meetings for planning, idea generation, design review
  • Managing and releaseing design in NEXUS
  • Future optimization of processor systems with respect to cost, performance, weight and durability
  • Module book ownership, evaluating change requests, conducting updates if required

 

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum educational and generic requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering
  • +5 years of professional experience with mechanical design for agricultural machinery
  • Some practical experience with combine harvesters or other agricultural machinery either as a driver or a repairman
  • Skilled technician / repairman of agricultural machinery or a background in the agriculture (e.g. grew up on a farm)
  • Excellent English language and writing ability Spreadsheet, Word and Powerpoint computer skills
  • Willingness to travel

Leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage in a matrix organization. 
  • Well-developed technical skills including the ability to persuade and influence others
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas, asking for guidance, present problems discovered and propose resolutions
  • Ability to address and resolve issues in an objective, fact-based, professional fashion
  • Ability to inspire confidence in project sponsors, owners and participants
  • Strong team work skills

Professional experience & knowledge 

  • strong technical expertise to lead module development activities and evaluate module change requests
  • functional knowledge of:
    • the basic function of agricultural machinery like tractors, implements and combine harvesters
    • material flow and logistics in modern agriculture
    • man – machine interface
  • A good understanding of mechanical design for industrialized manufacturing in a cost effective way:
    • Good design skills in sheet metal and machined metal components in modern industry
    • Innovative mind set to create new smart solutions, by thinking out of the “box”
    • Strong capability in FEA-analysis
    • Experience with hydraulic systems, mechanical drives and other machine components
    • Good skills in working with one or more modern ERP systems (SAP, BAAN, Navision, Concorde, Axapta)
    • Strong expertise in structural design
    • High level of expertise with Pro-E or other similar 3D-CAD system and PDM system
    • Good understanding of “Top Down Design” systematic and the use of “Skeletons” in 3D design
