Your challenges
We are looking for a new colleague, who would like to take up this exciting position as our new Development Engineer.
Being responsible for the quality, planning and performance of your own tasks and your own project deliveries your you will:
- Participate in analysis and product development projects (Front End and New Product Launch)
- Develop mechanical components - locking mechanisms, hinges etc.
- Perform motion analysis and strength calculations
- Execute simulation and construction in 3D CAD
- Participate in detail construction and production maturing in collaboration with the Production Engineering team
In addition, the job entails project workdays at our other VELUX locations with participation of Global Product Management, Production Engineering, Quality, Purchasing as well as with our business partners, suppliers and research centres.
As you will be part of a global organisation you can expect to travel approx. 20-50 days per year. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy travelling and that you have the opportunity to be flexible.
You will be joining a strong team of seven colleagues focusing on concept and product development. Our team is based in Hørsholm at VELUX headquarters in Denmark but you will also be collaborating with out other teams in VELUX Innovation Center in both Østbirk and Skjern.
Your qualifications
We expect that you are a mechanical engineer and you probably have 2-5 years of experience from a similar position. It will be a plus if you are experienced with construction in 3D CAD.
Feeling at home in a project oriented development organisation, your strong point is your great interest in identifying new technological and mechanical solutions that create business value. You drive innovation and it is natural for you to seek new ways.
As a person, you are a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, possess great drive and you enjoy working in an international environment. You are result oriented with a natural interest for ensuring progress. Furthermore It is important that you can navigate within a matrix organisation with many different stakeholders and that you can achieve results in this type of environment.
You are a creative ‘out of the box’ thinker with a good eye for details, observing deadlines always with a focus on how to create value for the business through quality, agreements and deadlines.
Competencies such as excellent communication and collaboration skills as well as fluency in English both orally and in writing is a prerequisite since you will engage with stakeholders throughout our organisation.
You are well acquainted with Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Knowledge of Motion Analysis, MathLab or MacthCAD as well as FEM will be an advantage.
