Senior Architect for implementing the IT strategy for wind power operations activities

Would you like to create business value by implementing the IT strategy of the world’s largest offshore wind power operator?
 
Join us and become Senior Architect in the Business IT department supporting our Wind Power Operations business. You will be part of an agile and dynamic team that is responsible for implementing and refining the IT strategy in close collaboration with business experts as well as managing the IT project portfolio in order to define the target IT landscape. Together with your colleagues you will define and standardise the IT solutions across our offshore wind farms in different countries, own the domain specific implementation roadmap and support new projects and changes regarding definition of the solution architecture.
 
Business IT is part of Wind Power which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.
 
You will be based at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area.However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your job.
 
Your key tasks will be to

  • translate business objectives into IT requirements in alignment with all relevant stakeholders and thereby be the interface between business and IT
  • define and maintain the as-is and target domain architecture in alignment with business and IT priorities as well as in compliance with the overall enterprise architecture
  • define and own a roadmap to successfully implement the target state for your domain, considering a pragmatic approach balancing the individual project needs with the overall target architecture
  • prepare and drive IT landscape-related management decisions
  • define solution architectures for new projects and support these projects during the full project lifecycle
  • develop a deep understanding of our business to be able to design tailored solutions with our business stakeholders.

 
In addition, you will promote the use of existing architectural building blocks, identify and assess new IT market trends within your domain as well as challenge new ideas from the business regarding IT implications. You will carry out all the tasks in close collaboration with other architects in the Business IT department and Group IT to ensure a consistent Wind Power Operations’ IT landscape across all domains.
 
Your qualifications and core competences include that you

  • hold a relevant degree, for example in information technology, engineering, mathematical-science or a related field and preferable a master’s degree
  • have professional experience with all operational aspects of a SAP related project from design through implementation, testing and production, ideally from the wind power industry
  • employ expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks, eg TOGAF, standard technologies, eg SOA, modeling environments, eg UML, and agile methods
  • are used to communicating on management level
  • have strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills in English.

 
Furthermore, you proactively approach your tasks and engage complex technical issues in a structured and analytical way. You will act as a team player together with stakeholders from Group IT and the business, which also requires discussing complex technical issues with non IT-experts.
