Team leader for Embedded Software - People Responsibility

Are you passionate about leadership and building a high-performing team in a technically challenging environment? Widex is looking for an Embedded Software team leader in the Electronic & Audiology (EA) unit in Lynge near Allerød. This is a newly formed team where embedded software for a wide range of hearing aids and accessory products are developed and tested. 

The teamlead reports to the VP of Electronic & Audiology and is a member of the EA leadership team. As we are still forming the new team, this is a great opportunity for you taking active part in the work to form the embedded software development team. The manager will interact and collaborate with colleagues from the leadership team responsible for IC, DSP, Hardware and System verification in order to secure timely deliveries to critical projects across the organization.
 
Securing high-quality deliveries through a people approach
Your tasks will consist of people management of a fast growing team - presently about 10 engineers within embedded software implementation and test.

You will work closely together with your team and teamlead colleagues to set the direction and ensure that the team is able to deliver the right people to the right projects at the right time. Your most important stakeholders in this regard are the Technical Program managers that manage projects across a broad spectrum of hearing aid products and solutions.

On a daily basis, you will manage resource planning, project staffing, budget and team deliveries. In addition, you will be mentoring employees to build up and maintain a best in class engineering environment and team. Recruitment and competence building to deliver on the product roadmaps will also be a key component of your position.

You will work closely with developers and architects to develop general as well as product specific technical designs - and secure that best practices are spread and used for embedded software development, including testing and documentation.

A key part of your activities will be to liaise and collaborate with product development team to understand and influence product vision and requirements.

As part of your role in the software management team, a critical objective will be to develop a long-term strategy for embedded software and translate that into action - together with you colleagues. Strategic long-term competence planning within the team will be a key component in this effort.

Qualifications
In order to succeed in this position, you need an agile mindset and good understanding of what it takes to be a leader in a flexible organization.

You hold ad Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. You should have at least 10 years of industry experience from embedded software development.

Former line management experience is not a must but you should have a keen passion for leadership and be able to show examples from current or previous jobs, for example as a Project Manager. Experience with external development partners and outsourcing is and advantage.

It will be an additional benefit if you have experience with ISO 13485 - quality management for medical devices.

You have an excellent understanding of embedded software development within realtime operating systems (RTOS), protocols and possible wireless Bluetooth systems and fair understanding of hardware development. In addition, you master Danish and English fluently.
