Engineer, Ph.d. Fiber Optic Sensor Development

Scientist for developing cutting-edge optical sensors and analytical instruments

OFS strives to offer state-of-the-art fiber optic sensor solutions and products. To succeed, we need an engineer or physicist with a Ph.D. with expertise in optics, electronics and optical sensors.

You will collaborate with team members from:

• The R&D department at OFS Denmark
• OFS Laboratories in the US
• Business Development department
• External partners.

You will be responsible for the development of new products in collaboration with customers, partners and suppliers. 

Your responsibilities

Your tasks include:

• Development and demonstration of prototypes for fiber optic sensor solutions
• Customer and supplier interactions 
• Development of tests and test equipment
• Coordination with R&D groups in USA and Denmark

You will be part of the R&D department with special focus on product development and measurements. You will report to Manager Bera Pálsdóttir, Product Development.

Your skills

• Engineer or Physicist specialized in areas such as physics, photonics, optics or analytical instrumentation. Ph.D. will be preferred.
• Experimental work
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Project Management skills
• Take the initiative – take on tasks, initiate solutions, launch ideas
• Thrive with collaboration with both technical specialists and blue collar workers
