Would you like to help us ensure quality, efficiency and continued development within the wind power foundation area in Denmark and abroad?

Join us and become Fabrication Manager in the Engineering and Fabrication Management department. Together with your colleagues in the team, you will be responsible for the manufacture of foundation structures for our offshore wind farms.

The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen or in Skærbæk near Fredericia. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work.

Your key duties will be to

  • ensure that the product meets the contract requirements for quality, deadlines and the cost targets
  • handle our supply contact and be responsible for our internal and external partners
  • manage a small team of supervisors, technical quality engineers and external third party consultants
  • manage the hand-over from supplier to installation
  • be responsible for the technical fabrication aspects during supply contract negotiation and for understanding the contractual requirements.

In addition, you will be handling the interface towards design and installation, leading the fabrication project team and reporting on supplier progress and status as well as planning and carrying out quality assurance and control. Moreover, you will conduct fabrication meetings with the supplier, ensure a safe working environment, handle third-party reviews of the delivery, e.g. welds and paintwork, and gather lessons learnt.

Your qualifications and core competences include that you

  • hold a master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably within the areas of offshore, marine, manufacture, construction or machine engineering
  • have experience with construction management and preferably also with supervising steel manufacture
  • have broad professional experience combined with the courage to influence our future development and the ambition to further develop your competences
  • have extensive insight into project processes and the ability to manage projects from start to finish
  • speak and write English fluently, and knowledge of Danish will be considered an advantage.

As a person, you have an analytical approach to your tasks, and you are structured and result-oriented. Furthermore, you are flexible and adaptable, enabling you to handle your tasks even in a sometimes hectic environment. Since you will be managing a project team, it is important that you are outgoing and excel in teamwork and working with various international partners and suppliers.

We offer
An exciting job in which you have unique opportunities to further develop your professional and personal competences in an internationally oriented business, where you take part in establishing some of the world's largest offshore wind farms. You will be part of a dynamic department at the forefront of developments within wind energy, and you will have the opportunity to spar professionally with dedicated, experienced colleagues in an informal environment.

In DONG Energy Wind Power, we have a high level of expertise and many complex and challenging work tasks. We work goal-oriented and efficiently with some of the world's largest offshore wind projects and we are committed to reducing the cost of electricity.
