We are looking for an ambitious Team Manager to head one of three teams within the R&D department of Microbial Analysis in Hørsholm, Denmark.  
 
Chr. Hansen is a world leading company which develops and manufactures microbial culture and enzyme-based products for the food and health & nutrition industries. The Microbial Analysis Department is part of the central R&D organization “R&D Microbial Platform”. Our main focus is to develop and validate new methods as well as perform analyses for culture and product performance, purity and stability. You will become part of a busy department where we help each other, aim for scientific excellence, and provide high value to our customers.  
 
The Team Manager will report to the Senior Department Manager of Microbial Analysis and lead a growing team of 8 highly skilled employees focusing on analyses for the food, culture and enzyme business. The Microbial Analysis Department plays a central role in the projects and activities in R&D Microbial Platform within new product development, new process development, and competence development. Therefore, a key task for the Team Manager is stakeholder management of the many collaborators within the rest of the organization.  

As Team Manager, you will have the responsibility to provide quality analyses and support to other R&D departments, as well as ensuring alignment and support to QC. A key task for the Team Manager is to ensure optimal utilization of resources in the team by working with continuous improvements, and at the same time secure that methods and procedures are validated according to requirements in relevant international standards. You will also be responsible for contributing to the strategy of the Microbial Analysis Department and securing that the competences and capabilities of the team follow best practice and can meet future needs.  
 
Your tasks 

  • Lead the team, manage task prioritization, and secure quality of methods and results  
  • Contribute to employee development through performance management  
  • Secure optimized resource planning and coordination  
  • Ensure a collaborative and safe working environment  
  • Contribute to the department’s structure and strategy and follow up of Key Performance Indicators  
  • Work with stakeholders throughout Chr. Hansen to ensure alignment and efficient execution of projects  
  • Further develop the competences and capabilities of the team to meet future needs for microbial analyses in Chr. Hansen  

Your personal profile   

  • Genuine interest in people management and experience as people manager (e.g. team leader or project manager)  
  • Advanced education within the natural sciences (preferably a Ph.D.)  
  • Knowledge of microbiology, preferentially both performance and purity analyses  
  • Solid planning capabilities and experience with resource management tools  
  • Interest in and experience with development of new methods  
  • Experience with validation and implementation of new technology, ideally including automated technical solutions  
  • Experience with method validation according to international standards  
  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO/GLP/GMP) and interest in working with LEAN optimization  
  • Ability to keep the overview and deliver results even when being under pressure  
  • Natural ability to form and maintain networks  
  • Proactive and focused on identifying opportunities and solutions  
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English, both in writing and orally
