The VELUX Group is undergoing a digital transformation. To address the new opportunities this brings, we are expanding our digital innovation team with three .Net (web) back-end developers and one team lead. Do you want to take our digital transformation to a completely new level, utilising the newest technologies to improve service for our customers? Then one of these four new positions could be a perfect match for you.

Your challenges
As back-end developer, you will be working on functions for our online shops, marketing sites, mobile apps, B2B solutions and more, used in more than 30 countries. You will also work with 3rd party teams onshore, near-shore and off-shore.

We use SiteCore as our CMS, SOLR for search and we have built our own state-of-the-art commerce platform to support the 50+ shops, we manage. You will collaborate with our front-end developers, typically in small teams responsible for the entire process from idea to implementation. You will have a large influence on the VELUX Group’s digital presence as well as on your own job, including planning and delivering on your own projects.

As part of the Digital Innovation team at HQ in Hørsholm, north of Copenhagen, you will have 10 motivated and creative colleagues, split between five solution/business architects and five back-end developers.

Your qualifications
You have a relevant background and a minimum of two years’ experience from a similar job. You have a strong command of English (both written and spoken).

Additional qualifications:

  • You are a competent .Net (C#) developer, used to web development and daily work with MVC, web services, SOAP, JSON, XML, SOLR and SQL
  • Experience working with CMS – SiteCore, would also be an advantage, but we will give you the necessary training
  • Experience with the following is an advantage, but not a pre-requisite: CSS, HTML, jQuery and JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks,  MS Azure (and Application Insights) and Mobile development
  • Knowledge and experience in the area of agile/scrum development processes and experience using TFS/GIT

You learn and adapt quickly in the ever-changing world of the web.

On a personal level, you are a self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude, who thrives on working in a team environment and manage multiple tasks with tight, but realistic, deadlines. You have a positive mindset and through your communication skills, you help others to learn and develop, whilst respecting and acknowledging their competencies and contributions. You enjoy coordinating with many stakeholders and understand the importance of keeping everyone up-to-date. Last, but not least, you have a structured and analytical approach to your work and you acknowledge the importance of prioritising your efforts optimally.

Team Lead position
The Team Lead position for the new division is a 50/50 split between hands-on software development and having the day-to-day responsibility for the back-end development team and their deliverables. You will have support from an experienced project manager, so you can focus on the technical and people sides of the position. You will report to the Director of Digital Innovation.

In addition to the abovementioned skills, you preferably have working experience with SiteCore or other CMS systems. We also expect that you have at least one or two years’ experience within people or project management, and that you are interested in setting technical/development directions and working with the team to increase quality of your team’s deliveries. You will be responsible for coaching and supporting your team and working with your manager in setting realistic goals, optimizing time to market and delivering cost-efficient development.

Your opportunities
You will be part of a dynamic and business-oriented IT team, which is characterised by an informal tone and a healthy sense of humor. The positions are an excellent opportunity for you to influence and be an active player in the development of the digital transformation journey.
