Alfa Laval Aalborg A/S is looking for service engineers to join our Service department in Aalborg - Marine & Diesel Systems (MPS). You will be part of a flexible team of colleagues around the world working with challenging marine service engineer tasks and with great focus on customer satisfaction.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
As our new service engineer, you will travel worldwide to carry out service, maintenance and repair task on-board vessels. Green technologies are one of the main focus areas within the company and you will execute installations as e.g. retrofits.
Your primary tasks will be:
- Service and troubleshooting of boilers, burners and control systems
- Inspection of boilers, boiler pressure parts and related systems
- Commissioning of boiler plants and retrofits worldwide
- Training of crew in servicing the boiler and burner installation
- Preparation of service jobs, technical support and end documentation
- Ad hoc participation in projects across the organisation
The job includes much travel activity (approximately 160-180 days per year) and besides the high rate of travelling, you will be required at the office in Aalborg about 1 month yearly.
Your competences:
We expect you to have a marine engineer or industrial electrician background including a thorough knowledge of boilers, boiler pressure parts, burners and control systems. Experience from a similar employment or sailing time, as a marine engineer on vessels is an advantage, but not a must - as long as you have the needed drive and commitment to learn we make sure that new employees receive the necessary training and support.
We are looking for colleagues with strong problem-solving skills, who work structured and quality-consciously, to provide our customers with high-level service. It is important that you are flexible, independent and robust and thrive in a very active environment with much travel activity - acting as a part of a dynamic team with colleagues around the world.
Further, good communication skills in English, spoken and written, are essential, along with an understanding of Microsoft Office products. Driving license is required and you must be able to obtain the special “medical certificate for mariners and fishermen”.
