Software Developer/Architect for Vessel Performance Team
– influence a unique energy efficiency system

As our new Software Developer/Architect, you will join our Performance Management team. The Performance Management team is responsible for improving performance, e.g. energy efficiency on Clipper vessels as well as external customers’ vessels. The team works closely together with external and internal customers, typically Operations and Technical Management departments globally. We are expanding our Performance Management services, and you will be part of and play a crucial role in this growth.

A key product in our Performance Management services is COACH, a software system that analyzes the hull, propeller and engine efficiencies and monitors the energy production onboard the vessels.

As a Software Developer within the Vessel Performance Team, you will play an important role in the further development and efficiency improvements of COACH.

Translating business requirements into value adding solutions
As a Software Developer/Architect, you will primarily:

  • Translate functional and business requirements into software specifications
  • Test new developments
  • Be responsible for the IT infrastructure and architecture of COACH and optimize/further develop this
  • Support the implementation process
  • Help prepare ad hoc analysis for customers (e.g. data extract)

You will be an important part of our team and cooperate closely with our Vessel Performance Analyst in Denmark as well as our development team in India in the entire software development process.

As we are a small team, working in a dynamic environment, new working task may emerge. It is important that you see this as an opportunity, and like to learn and influence different areas within COACH.

Software developer with strong analytical and cooperation skills
The right candidate has experience within IT/Software development and preferably holds a master degree within software development, mathematics or similar degree. You may have experience within mechanical engineering or marine technology but this is not a requirement.

In addition to this, you have:

  • Programming experience with C#, SQL, MS SQL server 2008 R2 and associated programs and infrastructure
  • Experience within software design, development and testing
  • Good background knowledge of IT infrastructure and architecture
  • Adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Are able to quickly troubleshoot problems
  • Have worked with numerical simulations, model testing, statistics and mathematical problems
  • Are proficient in English, as this is our corporate language
