Are you passionate about delivering easy to use interfaces to thousands of web editors around the globe? Do you love working with web technologies and feel confident you are a great frontend developer? Then you might be exactly who we are looking for.

Overview
Siteimprove is looking for an ambitious, creative and user-centric frontend software developer to help us in our mission to make the web better for all. You will be joining our Accessibility product development team and help us build friendly interfaces to guide online content owners to find accessibility issues on their platforms.

You will help us expand our product to include WAI-ARIA tests and present and highlight issues in an easy and understandable way.

You have built user interfaces that people like to use, and have both practical experience and opinions on what great user experience is about. You have proven records in building web applications and likely experimented with single page JavaScript apps on top of REST API’s and you consider yourself a great JavaScript developer.

You know how to support several brands and generations of browsers from IE9 and onwards. It helps if you are a little nerdy about accessibility and web standards and perhaps you have used either open source tools or thought of building your own to help checking websites for accessibility issues. You know how to build interfaces for people who use different kinds of assistive devices.

Visit our website http://siteimprove.com/features/web-accessibility/ for further info on our Accessibility product.

Your workplace will be our headquarters in the heart of Copenhagen, and you will report to the CTO.

Tech keywords: CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, REST APIs, AWS, WCAG 2.0, WAI-ARIA, C#

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain frontend application code for our Accessibility product.
  • Work together with the product owner, user experience people and graphical designers to implement nothing less of great user interfaces.
  • You join our development team and you will be touching areas such as web crawls, accessibility standards and data visualization.

We expect you to

  • Have experience corresponding to 3 years of full time software development.
  • Be outstanding with JavaScript, CSS and HTML.
  • Build a web application from scratch in less time than it takes to read this job description.
  • Have built applications on top of REST services.
  • Know and closely monitor web standards from W3C.
  • Breathe life into a graphical design on your own.
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English.

As a person you

  • Are curious, creative, and want to know and learn more.
  • Want to join us in our mission of removing all bad user experiences of websites
  • Are a team player and have a desire to work with creative and skilled people like you.
  • Can slice a task to deliver the needed parts first and the nice parts later.
  • Are self-driven and get things done with high standards.
