For our Material and Surface Treatments Laboratory within the Technology Department we are looking for dedicated and ambitious Head of Department. The labs are situated in Brande and Aalborg, and consist of 19 very skilled specialists supporting our design organization with valuable knowledge regarding material selection, analysis and testing. As head of Department, you will have a set of key-specialist supporting you in driving the activity in the department. The specialist cover the areas of metallurgy, surface treatment, none destructive testing (NDT) and composites.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Managing incoming tasks, setting clear expectations on deliverables and cost.
  • Handle business with external laboratories and establish benchmark.
  • Be a role model for your team, have hands-on, and ensure a high efficient team
  • Ensure our labs are up to high standards in terms of measuring/analysis capability & reporting
  • Facilitate root course analysis
  • Master tests according to international standards.
  • Develop adequate measuring methods for new types of test
  • Manage operational and investment budgets

 
What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You have an educational background as mechanical or chemical engineer with min 5 years of experience
  • You have a proven track record from managing a laboratory and knowledge within metallurgy, surface treatment, none destructive testing and composites
  • You thrive in a multicultural environment and possess excellent English skills both orally and in writing
  • Being highly flexible regarding workplace, as the labs are located in Brande and Aalborg
