We are looking for a mechanical engineer or industrial designer who is ready to develop their career designing new products for international clients and market sectors. You will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of new technologies for astronauts, athletes and medical patients.
Job Description
Your work will span the areas of research, product development and business. You will primarily be involved in designing and selecting materials for embedding sensors and other electronics into textiles.
Your tasks will consist of:
- Design of smart wearable products for international clients
- Interdisciplinary collaboration involving sensors, microelectronics, textile materials and encapsulation techniques
- Development of prototypes including technical clarification, manufacturing processes and sub suppliers.
- 3D design and construction drawings of mould tools, fixtures and test set-up
- Following designs from initial concepts to final products
Qualifications
Smart textiles is a niche area and we do not expect prior knowledge of this field. We expect that you will have the ability to work independently and acquire new knowledge quickly in this complex and continually developing area. We also value commercial awareness and the ability to upscale designs to full scale production.
It is essential that you have excellent written and spoken English.
We expect that you will have as minimum a BSc in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design.
Practical experience using SolidWorks is required.
