You will be a member of the Platform Innovation team located at our headquarters in Ballerup. We have full focus on developing new products and processes that combine several technologies in a new and innovative way. This imposes high demands on your skills and broad experience.
Active involvement - from conceptual design to product validation
As senior R&D Engineer you are a vital player in product development projects as you are involved in all aspects of the innovation process - from the conceptual design to the product validation. You participate in the interaction with future users of the products and you are also responsible for the documentation throughout your work.
Your main responsibilities are:
- To identify user needs through participation in project start-up phase where interaction with key opinion leaders, doctors and other experts worldwide is crucial in order to fulfil the ambitious innovation targets set by senior management.
- Concept development of ground-breaking products within new clinical and technological areas of Ambu. The Platform innovation project teams are the pioneers of product development within Ambu, which means that you will be involved in developing entirely new Ambu concepts.
- Mechanical design. You will be responsible for plastic and mechanical construction within the development project groups.
- Documentation and tests of your work in accordance with the regulations from FDA and ISO.
Your contact base is broad, and you will have interface with Ambu’s global organisation, all departments involved in product development projects and externally with users, knowledge centres and suppliers.
Experienced medical device engineer
Most importantly, you have extensive knowledge of developing medical devices, and you have solid experience with plastic and mechanical construction. Most likely, you are employed in a similar job within the medical device industry or in a consultancy that deals with the medical device field. Your previous employments have given you solid experience with documentation according to FDA/ISO guidelines.
Most likely, you hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
As a person you are self-motivated, committed and have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work. You are thorough and detail-oriented but at the same time you have great interpersonal skills and have a sense of the situation, which makes you thrive in global teams. You are a “do’er” and prefer to act on rather than theorise about problems.
Since we are a global company, you will be involved in cross-cultural collaboration. Consequently, it is a requirement that you are fluent in English and that you are able to communicate efficiently. Lastly, you thrive in a position that gives you the opportunity to travel approximately 20-30 days a year.
