Are you at the forefront of x-ray generation and detection devices? Do you understand x-ray - tissue interaction? 3Shape is looking for a talented x-ray developer / physicist to play a key role in keeping our medical 3D CBCT scanner at the state of the art. At 3Shape, we take pride in having developed some of the world’s leading 3D digitization devices - all in-house. We have grown organically from 2 to more than 550 employees in 14 years and are now present in all major global markets.

As an x-ray developer you will work at the heart of our 3D scanning technology for our new and innovative CBCT scanner. We will expect you to be able to be creative in developing new solutions that will keep us ahead of competition. In order to do this you must be able to transform your solid theoretical foundation into practical solutions. You need to have a current knowledge of x-ray technology and understand how the field is moving. You also need to be able to understand the x-ray - tissue interaction and how it affects 3D imaging as well as the health and safety aspects of the applied dose. Since you will be working on medical devices we expect you to participate in risk assessment and certification activities. It is important that you have a demonstrated ability in driving solutions together with colleagues with many different fields of expertise. It is also an advantage if you have knowledge of one or more of neighboring fields such as programming, mechanics or electronics.

Candidate profile
The successful candidate must demonstrate several of the following qualifications:

  • A M.Sc. or Ph.D. in engineering or physics. Perhaps you are a medical physicists with a radiology specialization?
  • Solid knowledge of x-ray generation, detection and x-ray - tissue interaction
  • Experience with product development and perhaps also experience with medical products
  • Ability to drive solutions in collaboration with colleagues from many different fields of expertise
  • Knowledge of programming, mechanics or electronics will be an advantage
  • Mindset for quality, flexibility, and for seeing priorities from a user perspective
