Would you like to head a newly created department that is responsible for establishing a centralised supply chain setup for spares and tools for the world’s largest operator of offshore wind farms?

Join us and become Head of Operations Supply Chain in the Operations Supply Chain Department which is responsible for managing the supply of spares and tools to our wind farms while continuing to develop the department to accommodate to the rapid growth of our portfolio.

The department is part of Wind Power which has 1600 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at our Danish offices in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or alternatively at our London office in the United Kingdom on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work

Areas of responsibility
As Head of Operations Supply Chain, you will play an important role in ensuring our ambitions of being a world-class wind farm operator by managing a supply chain that aligns procurement, planning and logistics of spares and tools across the portfolio. One of your primary responsibilities will be to set up the department and initiate the implementation of the Operations Supply Chain Strategy. Given that the department has just been established, your initial tasks will be to recruit and on-board the rest of your team, securing the right set of competences in the department.

As a part of your leading role in the maturation of our supply chain, it is expected that you will also play a prominent role in the continuous development and improvement of the supply chain processes and SCM competences in the organisation.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • ensure implementation of a global Inventory Model and E2E Forecasting & Planning
  • secure sustainable supply chain optimisations with the aim of improving control and flexibility of the supply chain
  • enable long-term cost reductions
  • increase availability of spares and tools by managing the supply chain through clear KPIs between your department and its business partners.

Your profile
You have an educational background within engineering, business administration, economics or other relevant area and extensive experience in supply chain management, preferably within service operations in large international organisations. Experience from the wind power industry is an advantage.

You have thorough knowledge of SAP ERP and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

It is essential that you have strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to navigate in intricate organisational structures, and to identify and involve the necessary business stakeholders that will ensure the delivery of the supply chain strategy.

As you will be joining a multi-cultural organisation and be cooperating closely with your colleagues abroad, it is important that you speak and write English fluently.

It is essential that you have a systematic and structured approach to your work. You are open-minded and result-oriented and are prepared to learn about other functional areas. Additionally, you have personal drive and are able to motivate and develop team members, ensuring that we meet the ambitious results and targets defined in our strategy.
