Senior Inspection Engineer for risk-based inspection of pressure equipment

Are you an experienced inspection engineer, are you familiar with the RBI methodology or willing to learn, and do you have experience from the exploration and production industry?

Join us and become the Senior Inspection Engineer in the Technical Integrity department which is responsible for the technical integrity of current (Siri platform with the satellite platforms Nini, Nini East and Cecilie) and future DONG-operated fields and assets in the Danish sector.

The department is a part of Exploration & Production which has 700 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We explore for and produce oil and natural gas. Today, our activities are centred in the seas off Denmark, Norway and the United Kingdom, and we have an ambitious strategy with many exciting projects in the pipeline.

You will be based at our office in Gentofte in the greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work, primarily to Esbjerg in West Jutland.

Areas of responsibility
In your role as Senior Inspection Engineer, your key duties will be to:

  • continuously update the RBI system, providing condition assessments and inspection results as input for our RBI system
  • plan inspections and ensure coordination in cooperation with platform operation, maintenance, logistics and external suppliers (piping systems, pressure vessels, PSVs)
  • follow up on inspections as well as review and archive inspection reports
  • initiate actions on inspection results and provide input for fitness for service assessments
  • provide input for risk assessments and for painting campaigns.

All your tasks will be carried out in close cooperation with the RBI responsible in Exploration & Production, external suppliers and the inspection company.

Your profile
You hold, as a minimum, a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent degree. You preferably have at least 5 years of inspection engineering experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical or refinery industry. Furthermore, you have strong knowledge of legislative requirements related to pressure equipment. It is also a benefit if you have experience with the RBI methods and standards as well as SAP Plant Maintenance.

You work systematically and strive to maintain our systems in good order. However, you also enjoy working in a dynamic environment, where you sometimes need to respond to new situations with very short notice. It is essential that you have excellent cooperation skills, since you will be working with many different people in and outside our organisation. Furthermore, you speak and write Danish and English fluently.

You are open-minded and have an eye for new or smarter ways of achieving our results in an efficient and safe way. You are self-motivated and can make your own judgements, yet you know when to ask for help or guidance. You are determined on achieving our goals, and you are persistent in doing so, but you are also capable of changing track when required.

We offer
A unique and challenging job where you have every opportunity to develop your skills, while you help maintain our Danish offshore exploration and production facilities in a safe and efficient working condition, in close cooperation with our operating organisation.

In DONG Energy Exploration & Production, we have a high level of expertise and many complex and challenging work tasks. We work goal-oriented and innovatively with our projects with a high focus on safety. Working for us, you will be close to the decision-making processes.
