As Application Framework Software Engineer you will head up the Sigma Designs Z-Wave Command Class framework activity and you will also be creating reference applications showcasing best practice implementations.
Command classes are the important fundament for Z-Wave functionality and Application interoperability across vendors. The Command classes are the basis for the Z-Wave certification program which all Z-Wave products must pass. Today it consists of 100+ command classes. The list is rapidly growing as our innovative partners are continuously creating new features and products which need to be added to the Command Class framework.
Your primary work tasks will be:
- Represent Sigma Design in Z-Wave Command Class developments in the Z-Wave Alliance
- Drive the development of new Command classes as Editor of the specifications.
- Create Certification test cases for the specifications
- Development of Z-Wave reference Application - showcasing best practice usage of the framework.
- Educating and Supporting the Sigma Design internal organization regarding the framework
We expect that you have:
- Have extensive experience with standardization work in organizations such as IEEE, ITU, IETF.
- Have strong analytical background with experience in design, implementation, test and documentation
- Have experience C/C++ programming
- Have experience with wireless networks and communication protocols
- Relevant technical background such as M.Sc.E or equivalent
