Would you like to help us ensure the quality, efficiency and continued development within the wind power engineering in Denmark and abroad?

Join us as and become Technical Quality Engineer in our Engineering and Fabrication Management department. Together with your colleagues in the department, you will help us ensure the strategy for and the extent of quality control activities on our wind projects.

You will advise, assist, support and follow up on the fabrication project team members in relation to quality management and quality system implementation. Furthermore, you will advise and support our contractors and sub-suppliers on quality management and quality system implementation according to our requirements.

Engineering and Fabrication Management is part of Wind Power, which has 1900 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or in Skærbæk near Fredericia on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect at least 60 days of travelling a year in relation to your work. Travelling will mainly consist of regular 1-2 days Yard visits to follow up on status with the fabrication manager, supervisors and contractors.

Areas of responsibility
As Technical Quality Engineer, you are responsible for quality assurance of foundation fabrication, ensuring that the processes needed for fabrication and construction activities are established, implemented and maintained, and for liaising with our contractors and external parties on quality matters.

You will also participate in all relevant phases of projects  including tender document and contract preparation, support in assessing the ability of contractors and suppliers to meet quality requirements, and the execution phase to help ensure final project documentation.

Moreover, you will assist in the preparation, maintenance and implementation of project quality plans, eg by preparing and updating quality activity schedules and the master document register, detailing quality activities and ensuring ongoing collection and handling of fabrication documentation such as final as-built documentation. You will be responsible for follow-up on and registration of contractor NCRs in our own document handling system.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • review and comment on the project risk register and provide input to the audit program to the QA manager
  • evaluate contractors' sub-supplier management, eg sub-supplier visit and inspection programme, inspection and test plan as well as sub-supplier evaluation
  • assist in reviewing contractor documentation of incoming materials on site during execution
  • systematically report to the Fabrication Manager on quality progress with input from fabrication supervisors, ensuring compliance with the requirements in the PQMP and fabrication sub-QP
  • report on high-quality issues across the organisation, and assist in preparing fabrication standards for measurements and procedures.

Your profile
You have a relevant degree in engineering with extensive practical as work experience within the wind or construction industry. Moreover, you are highly experienced in quality management and have completed relevant quality courses and training.

You must have the courage to influence development and the ambition to further develop your competences. It is also vital that you have extensive insight into project processes, preferably from a similar position.

As we operate in a highly international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently. It will be an advantage if you also have Danish skills.

As you will be working closely with colleagues, internal and external partners and our contractors, you must be outgoing, possess strong communication abilities and excel in working with various partners in international settings. You should also have the ability to achieve your goals in negotiation situations. You are flexible, enabling you to handle your tasks in a dynamic environment.

We offer
An exciting job where you have unique opportunities to further develop your professional and personal competences in an internationally oriented business where you help establish some of the world's largest offshore wind farms. You will be part of a dynamic department at the forefront of developments within wind energy.

In DONG Energy Wind Power, we have a high level of expertise and many complex and challenging work tasks. We work goal-oriented and efficiently with some of the world's largest offshore wind projects and we are committed to reducing the cost of electricity.
