Process Engineer, Environmental Operations
Are you looking for new challenges in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? If so, you could be our new colleague in Environmental Operations, a team of 25 engineers, technicians, and operators. Environmental Operations is a fully integrated part of our enzyme production site in Kalundborg. We operate Northern Europe’s largest industrial waste water treatment plant with a capacity of approximately 2mio PE. Our main processes include anaerobic pretreatment of process waste water using UASB technology, an activated sludge treatment plant, and biomass handling.
As a process engineer, you will have responsibility of our biomass handling. This line consists of lime stabilization, coagulation and flocculation, and dewatering on decanter centrifuges. The final product, NovoGro30®, is sold as fertilizer for farmers across Zealand. Your role will be daily supervision and optimization of these processes as well as securing that regulatory requirements are in compliance.
You will also be responsible for identifying and driving technology projects to further improve our production processes and secure future capacity. Examples of this could be validation of new stabilization methods, improved flocculation, online monitoring and control, new technology for dewatering, treatment of reject water, capacity expansion, etc.
In this position you need to have:
An educational background as B.Sc. or M.Sc. (potentially combined with a Ph.D.), within environmental technology or any related field (e.g. biology, chemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, etc.)
Experience from working with waste handling and/or environmental processes in the waste water industry
Technical interest and be capable of optimizing process conditions in a complex environmental operations set-up
Be a team-player with high degree of personal drive and have the ability to overcome unforeseen barriers and create results
Be fluent in Danish and capable of taking the role as informal leader for operators and technicians to ensure implementation of your process strategies
