Applied microbiologist in Household Care R&D, Bagsværd (DK)
We are seeking a creative and result-oriented applied microbiologist to help drive the development of biotechnology in the household care segments.
As applied microbiologist in Household Care, you will have the daily responsibility to independently plan, carry out and report laboratory experiments in agreement with the project group, and you will set the direction and participate in creating a high performing team. The focus will be on understanding microbial based biofilms in cleaning settings, including growth, characterization, analysis, degradation and visualization.
It is important that you like working in the lab as setting up lab scale test models and coordinating and running trials together with lab technicians are important parts of the job. You are inspired by developing real products and are able to link business needs towards research strategies.
On the scientific side, you strive towards excellence and are updated on technologies and scientific developments in the field. You ensure the implementation of new methods and equipment and have the competencies to solve technical problems. In this position you need to have:

  • A strong scientific background (PhD or MSc level) in i.e. chemistry, biochemistry or microbiology combined with relevant practical work experience within the field
  • Experience with applied microbiology combined with assay development and preferably you also have experience with the development of lab/pilot-scale models mimicking real scale biofilm applications
  • Preferably experience in the field of industrial (White) biotechnology (i.e. non-pharma biotech)
  • Relevant publications within the field of enzymes and/or molecular biology and/or microbiology (incl. also patents)
  • A global mindset and the ability to thrive in a challenging and informal working environment
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
