Embedded HW Developer

Roxar Downhole provides innovative and high-performance technology designed to maximize oil & gas reservoir performance. We develop permanent downhole monitoring systems that operate at extreme environments: up to a pressure of 1400 bar and temperature of 225°C for 6 years. Our products have a field proven lifetime of more than 20 years.

Do you want to play a key role in strengthening the industry leading product portfolio of Roxar Downhole? We are looking for a Senior Embedded Hardware Developer in our Stavanger office.

The position will be part of the Downhole Engineering & Development team developing and qualifying new products. The team includes embedded hardware, software, firmware, and test engineers in cooperation with mechanical engineers to ensure that our products fulfil our extensive performance and reliability requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop new products or redesign existing products.
• Carry the design through the full development cycle from specifications to transfer to manufacturing.
• Develop testing plans that challenges and proves the design.
• Create and document requirement and design specifications.
• Provide technical support for production and service queries.
• Provide support and guidance to the systems engineering team to create complete product solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Degree, or equivalent in Electronics, Cybernetics, Computer Science or similar.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience with embedded systems.
• Embedded firmware programming for microcontrollers or DSPs in C/C++.
• Digital hardware design and simulation for FPGAs in VHDL, Verilog, etc.
• General electronics design and simulation in SPICE.
• Schematic capture with PADS, Altium, etc.
• PCB design & layout with PADS, Altium, etc.
• Experience with DFT & DFM.
• Experience with designing for EMC.
• Experience with production hand-over and ramp-up.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with industry specific protocols such as Modbus, CanBus, I2C, SPI, PWM, or others is highly welcome.
• Comfortable with working in the lab and using measurement equipment.
• Experience with Agile Product Development, e.g., SCRUM, TDD, XP.
• Analytical, structured, thorough, committed, self-driven and proactive.
• Experienced at working in teams and meeting tight schedules.
• Good at creating strategies and plans.
• Great communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in verbal and written English.
