The job
As mechanical engineer, you must take overall responsibility for the mechanics in the robot by applying your strong knowledge of mechanics and working together with your colleagues. You will become part of a high-performance team which is jointly responsible for devising and developing new robot mechanical designs in close collaboration with software and electronics. As part of the job, you will get to work with:

• 3D design in Solid Works of all mechanical robot parts

• Simulation of mechanical components

• Preparation and maintenance of drawings

• Preparation of test specifications

• Regular optimisation of prices, weight, strength, etc.

• Quality assessment and selection of suppliers (in close cooperation with the procurement department)

Qualifications
You have a BSc in mechanical engineering - preferably also an MSc in engineering, and have at least 3-5 years of experience in this field. Moreover, candidates with knowledge of electronics and especially the ERP system, AX Dynamics, will be preferred. It is key that your approach is thorough and that you are able to design things that work the first time. You will also be involved in designing maintenance-free mechanics which must work perfectly under changing environmental impacts. You must write and speak English fluently.
