COWI holds a very strong competitive position in the international market for marine engineering. We experience an increased demand for our services in our key market areas; coastal engineering, offshore wind, ports, and terminals.

To support and strengthen our position in the market and accelerate our growth, we are looking for a senior engineer with substantial international experience to take part in the technical management of our team of hydraulic and coastal engineers in the Department for Marine and Foundation Engineering in Denmark. 

The department employs more than 100 dedicated engineers and is part of COWI's Major Business Line; Bridge, Tunnel and Marine. We work in a truly international environment with projects all over the world from our offices in Denmark, Germany, UK, North America, Middle East, and South East Asia.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Lyngby or Aarhus. Travelling between offices should be expected.
Our preferred candidate possess the following professional and personal qualifications.

Your knowledge

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in hydraulic engineering, hydrodynamics or coastal engineering.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of waves and hydrodynamics, incl. wave transformation processes, wave kinematics and wave loads on marine or offshore structures 
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of scour around marine and offshore structures, sediment transport and coastal processes 
• Experience with analysis of hydrodynamics and met-ocean design conditions 
• Experience with design of coastal structures, breakwaters and scour protections 
• Experience with numerical modelling using MIKE21 and MIKE3.
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written) 
• Experience as project manager and technical lead, i.e. for met-ocean studies, numerical modelling and design of coastal structures.
