Join us and become Wind Turbine Installation Manager in the Offshore Management department. The department has 11 employees, and we use our know-how in all phases of our offshore wind turbine projects - from the early development phase, through the constructing phase to operation and maintenance. Offshore Management is part of Wind Power which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at one of our Danish offices in either Skærbæk near Fredericia or Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area, or alternatively at our London office in the United Kingdom on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect some travelling to our offices in the UK, Denmark or Germany.

Areas of responsibility
As a Wind Turbine Installation Manager, you are responsible for managing the installation of offshore wind turbines during the execution phase. Other tasks include managing the interfaces between the WTG supplier, the installation vessel contractor and the MWS, assisting with the selection of WTG installation vessel contractor and coordinating the optimisation of the deck layout, managing the WTG installation vessel contract and the WTG supplier during the delivery, load out and installation of WTGs offshore.

Moreover, you liaise with the line management team organisation and lead specialist to share knowledge and information, assist monitoring and trouble shooting and facilitate resource management.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • report to the project WTG package manager within the project execution phase and assist the package manager during the pre-FID phase
  • approve the selection of and manage WTG client reps offshore
  • make recommendations to the Wind Turbine Supply Agreements in respect of WTG installation and you will act as WTG scope main point of contact with the MWS
  • liaise with Site and Commissioning team regarding installation interfaces
  • visit onshore and offshore sites as required and check that the port access, pre-assembly area, quayside and soil conditions are suitable for WTG installation scope of work.

Your profile
It is essential that you have relevant technical qualifications. Ideally, you have wind energy or a marine qualification. GWO offshore access and safety training during offshore construction is required. Experience, knowledge or qualifications in LOLER and CDM regulations, or equivalent Danish or German legislation are also required.

You have prior experience with holding a key role on a construction project, for example (but not limited to) Installation Manager, Site Manager or Project Engineer. In addition, you are able to demonstrate some experience with offshore work. Ideally, you have prior experience within marine construction, WTG installation, offshore engineering and marine contracting. It is essential that you demonstrate some marine operations or wind construction experience.

You can demonstrate excellent written and verbal English skills, are team-oriented and safety and quality focused. Furthermore, you are numerate, demonstrate strong organisational skills and are a competent user of Microsoft Office. Ideally, you are able to speak and write Danish or German; however, this is not essential. In addition, experience with AutoCAD, Primavera and Synergi would be advantageous.

You must be able to travel to our other sites and partner sites primarily in the United Kingdom, Holland, France, Germany and Denmark. Lastly, you demonstrate a willingness to work offshore for periods during the construction phase.
