We now offer a highly skilled mechanical engineer the opportunity to become part of a large, growing international organization. The overall ambition of Interacoustics R&D is to deliver high-end and innovative solutions within the field of audiological instrumentation.

For now, the position is based at our headquarters in Assens, Fyn. We will relocate to new facilities in Middelfart in mid 2015. 

The position - mechanical engineering
You will join an experienced R&D team with multiple competences in mechanics, acoustics, electronics and software.

Your main responsibilities will be the construction of cabinets for instruments, fine mechanical components and electromechanical parts. The construction is focused on injection moulded plastics, but other relevant methods are used as well.

The job involves cooperation with several stakeholders such as designers, audiologists and other specialists in R&D. As the expert on cabinet construction you will be encouraged to share your ideas and input – setting your mark on new mechanical solutions.

We offer a great opportunity to work globally in a cross border environment. The team coordinate with international suppliers and our sister companies in Germany and the United States. For plastic moulding we mostly work with Chinese suppliers via our office in Shenzhen.

Main areas of expertise:

  • 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks)
  • Designing injection-moulding parts
  • Translating user requirements into mechanical design
  • Cost and production optimization of designs
  • Understand and interpret simulation results
  • Understanding the production and assembly methods

As our new mechanical engineer, you will be expected to engage in many tasks at the same time, but at the same time enjoy a dynamic work environment, with the flexibility to organize your own workflow.

Are we looking for you? 
You hold a B.Sc. or a M.Sc. in mechanical engineering or design.

Preferably, you have minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience such as design of injection moulded plastic components or Instrument design

As a person you have good communication skills and act as an efficient networker who quickly adapts to the varying projects you are working on. We value a structured and self-managing approach to your work, with the ability to work with colleagues from other cultures.

We expect you to be fluent in English and you may expect 10-20 travel days per year.
