Chemical Engineer
We are looking for a Chemical Engineer for our Standardization and Filling Production in Kalundborg.

The department, Supply Chain Operation, Kalundborg (SCO KA), belongs to the function SCO EMA Operations within the business unit Supply Chain Management (SCM). The SCO EMA Operations business unit is a part of the Novozymes production organization with sites in China, India, USA and Brazil as well as two places in Denmark. We are 546 employees in SCM, and 173 in SCO EMA.

The department includes 55 employees with the responsibility for all liquid formulation and filling capacity for the EMA region. The department SCO KA produces enzymes for the food, feed and technical industries. Enzymes for the food industry have a strategic focus going forward. The plant in Kalundborg plays a very important role in the coming years with fast development within food safety requirements and Novozymes' requirement for capacity improvements.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or Cand.Scient. degree within chemistry, biotechnology, process technology, biology or similar
• Experience with production in a GMP environment
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene
• Knowledge of and experience from working with large scale biological processes are a plus
• You are a dynamic, committed and outgoing person
• You are able to communicate and cooperate well with all employee groups.
• You appreciate working with people and processes with an ambitious, proactive and open-minded approach.
• You can see the broader perspective of things and handle many tasks at a time.
• Interest in or experience with LEAN, six sigma, and systematic improvement methodologies
• MS office super user, SAP, Business Warehouse and databases
• Excellent Danish and English communication skills are a prerequisite

Challenges
In a dynamic environment our common challenge is to deliver Novozymes' product portfolio to the worldwide market.
You will be one of three chemists in the department.
The key tasks as a chemist in SCO KA are:

• Responsibility for delivering high quality products to our customers
• Secure that the products will meet customer's expectations
• Follow up on production costs
• Assisting in process troubleshooting
• GMP/hygiene follow up
• Hygiene qualification of equipment
• Participation in improvement projects.

You will also take part in our internal and external audits and be given the opportunity to challenge conventions. You have a daily dialog with the Quality Management, Planning, Development departments, and production chemists from other departments. You will also have a close cooperation with our LEAN engineer, production technicians and operators to solve ongoing technical issues to make sure the production processes run smoothly.
