Lead Buyer Projects - Søborg, Denmark
Due to continued growth and expansion, we now have an excellent opportunity available for a top calibre “Lead Buyer - Projects” in Søborg, Denmark, to join our evolving international organization.

As “Lead Buyer - Projects” you will direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies in an organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors, as well as acting as lead buyer to selected, key projects. You’ll ensure that SPX procures goods and services that are fit-for-purpose and competitively sourced, such that they will positively impact cost-savings and project profitability.

Responsibilities would include: 

  • Engage with supply chain to seek competitive quotes on equipment/fabrications/materials and services required to meet the project budget and timeline.
  • Prepares Request for Quote (RFQ) and Statements of Work (SOW) regarding purchasing systems components and related services such as installation and commissioning
  • Drive cost savings from the budget baseline
  • Drive low Cost Country (LCC) purchasing where possible/practical and in the interests of the project (maintaining cost, quality, delivery)
  • Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications
  • Engage with QA, SQA, SPX management, project management (as required) to resolve quality issues (as they arise), in a timely manor
  • Directly supervise a small team of supply chain employees in the Purchasing department.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Engineering or technical / Science Bachelor's degree from College or University and several years related experience is preferred 
  • Several years’ experience within the food & beverage equipment or capital project equipment related businesses would be an advantage
  • 8+ years related experience in a project-related SCM environment
  • SAP Experience is desirable (or other high spec MRP systems)
  • Several years’ experience in supervising teams would be an advantage
  • Engagement/liaison skills between suppliers, manufacturers and relevant internal departments and Customers
  • Change management/problem resolution
  • Purchasing administration (general)
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Fluent in Danish & English both written and verbally 
  • Experience in using MS - Office and ERP tools
  • Team player, detail oriented, structured and persistent
