Senior Process Engineer responsible for developing and upscaling our Inbicon technology

Would you like to develop new environmentally friendly technology concepts?

Join us as soon as possible as Senior Process Engineer in Inbicon Concepts in New Bio Solutions. New Bio Solutions is currently commercialising two technologies: Inbicon for enzymatic biomass refining and REnescience for enzymatic waste management. Inbicon Concepts is responsible for developing Inbicon technology concepts.

New Bio Solutions is a knowledge-based department which develops, matures and sells technology, licences, software and know-how for handling household, industrial and agricultural waste. We have an ambition to become a world-leading technology supplier in this field. We currently own one of the world’s biggest large-scale demonstration facilities for the production of second-generation bioethanol, and we also operate several major pilot facilities for waste and biorefining.

You will be based at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia. You should, however, expect some travelling in relation to your work.

Areas of responsibility
As Senior Process Engineer in the Concepts team, it is your responsibility to develop and upscale the Inbicon technology for commercial projects. Together with your six committed colleagues, you will be a key person in our team, responsible for developing new concepts and conducting pilot, demonstration and full-scale tests to demonstrate new concepts and qualify process equipment for these.

Your key duties will be to:

  • develop concepts on a design basis
  • plan and coordinate verification activities in the pilot, demonstration and full-scale tests
  • document completed tests
  • contribute to selecting equipment suppliers to core technologies and downstream processes
  • prepare mass and energy balances
  • develop measurement and process-control concepts.

Your profile
You have a degree in chemical engineering or other technical university background. It is essential that you have senior engineering level experience with practical development or production from various companies with chemical or biotechnological processes.

Preferably, you have some experience within the biorefining area and with classical chemical unit operations, such as filtering, mixing and mass transport in agitated tanks. It will be an advantage if you can demonstrate positive results within and experience with upscaling of biotechnological processes.

As we operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently.

We are in the midst of an exciting development process, and your job will bring many new challenges every day. Therefore, it is important that you are good at seeing the bigger picture and prioritising your tasks. Your job has many opportunities for turning your good ideas into creative, operational solutions. Similarly, it is important that you have a systematic approach and see documentation as a natural part of your job.

We offer
A challenging job in a dynamic and informal development environment. You will have the opportunity to influence the development of some of the world’s leading technologies within biorefining together with dedicated and competent colleagues working within many disciplines.

In DONG Energy New Bio Solutions, we have a high level of expertise and many complex and challenging work tasks. We work dedicated on commercialising our cutting-edge technologies for handling household, industrial and agricultural waste.
